The Chronicles of St. Mary's

Back in July last year I finally gave in and clicked to buy a Kindle book that had kept popping up in my recommends on Amazon, Goodreads, and Audible.
I thought "what the hell, the title sounds quite good, and I've been seeing it flipping everywhere for months now!"

That book was Just One Damned Thing After Another by Jodi Taylor.

Slow cooked Sunday

Yesterday I decided that I wanted to do a slow cooked something for dinner today. I wasn't quite sure what so I flicked through the newest book by the Hairy Bikers to see if they had any new ideas for me.
Not really a new idea, but one that sounded straightforward (and repeatable in the future) was their Pot Roast recipe.

The Accident Season - Moïra Fowley-Doyle

It's the accident season, the same time every year.
Bones break, skin tears, bruises bloom.

The accident season has been part of seventeen-year-old Cara's life for as long as she can remember: a month of mysterious injuries and tragedies, which casts a constant shadow over Cara and her family.

This year, the accident season will break more than just bones. Because Cara is starting to ask questions - and all her family's secrets will rise to the surface.

About Me

Once upon a time, at the end of the 1970s, a little girl was born on an island that was mostly desert. She lived there for a couple of years and then moved with her mum and dad to an old house on the side of a hill. Then they moved to a house opposite fields. Then in the middle of the 1980s they moved to a house in a medium-sized town and stayed there. The little girl was not so little any more, and spent the first afternoon in her new house sitting in a corner with a new book and some Maltesers.
